They’re Like the Avengers, but If No One Knew About Them…

So a few days ago Marvel released the first trailer for the up-coming ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ movie, which of course everyone is excited about because it’s a Marvel movie and those have been pretty above-average lately. Now I know jack squat about these so-called “guardians”, but that trailer was super cool. I’m now as excited for this movie as I am for ‘The Winter Soldier’ (aka Captain America 2), and there are a few reasons why.

#1 – I don’t know these crazy kids:

Because I have literally no idea who the members of this rag-tag team are, I don’t have any expectations going into the movie. Sure, I was never such a comic book fan that I knew every detail of Thor or Iron Man’s back story, but I knew of them. I don’t know a single character in this movie, and with no pretence I have no preconceptions of what I think the plot/characters should be like. Which is awesome.

#2 – A good time with laughs and explosions:

Look, this movie could suck. It could be really really bad. Like, ‘Wolverine: Origins’ bad. But considering the awesome budget this movie has, decent cast and the fact that Marvel has absolutely nothing to lose, my bet is that it’ll be one really enjoyable movie (Unfortunately, Bradley Cooper is a CGI Raccoon in this movie. Sorry Ladies).

#3 – Cool characters

I don’t know what it is, but I really like the mix of characters in this team. Maybe it’s as simple as the fact that they have a TALKING RACCOON, but it might be a bit more complicated that that. It could be that they are so obviously not perfect, unlike some superheroes out there (coughcoughsupermancough). I like that they all seem like anti-heroes in a way, and that they have a lot more personality than others. It’s not much, but It got me interested.

I’m excited, and you should be too.

So what do you think of the trailer? Are you as weirdly excited as I am? or do you think Marvel has lost the plot? I do have a comment section, believe it or not, so be the first to use it!
